Show Us Where You Live Friday!

Kelly at Kelly's Korner is hosting another

And today is all about Dining Rooms! So, since I missed out on the kitchen one & I have an open concept I am giving you a two for one today. My kitchen & dining room! Whooo hoooo the excitement!! Contain yourself! :)

Here is my dining room! Normally I do not have the curtains closed since there is a hill behind the house. Here is the table-which I love. It is counter height. I had originally wanted a square one but this is oval and it closes into a round and is perfect!

Here are two of my favorite things. They both came from Italy. The one on the top is actually a place mat that is cut out but I thought it was way to pretty to use on the table. I saw that they to had put it behind glass and in a frame and wanted a lot of money for it(the mat was only about $8 US for two) so I bought them and bought frames and red wrapping paper for the same look and it was only $32 for the two. The hang on each side of the window. The big sunflower painting was being sold along the rode and I fell in love with it and it to was cheap $50 US.I don't know if you can see it but in the painting to the right one of the sunflowers looks like it petals are down and to me it reminds me of a little girl with blonde hair. :)

Across from the table is my bookcase that has all of my cookbooks and other books that I love. The other pictures is a close up of what is above it! I don't know if you can see it but I have a white angel hanging there and it was given to me by my mom's siblings at her funeral. My mom collected angels.

My light fixture.

This is the sign that hangs over the window. We got it at Target.

Now lets move around the kitchen!
Look into it from the dining room!
Looking out from the sink

Here is my tin collection!
My pantry & Hawaiian hot pads
I love this window. Above it is my cherry dough roller & sunflower baby
I love the little green corner sunflower cabinet. Got it from Ross's

The stove
The fridge with all the stuff I love to see on it!

I am thinking now that I have been in the house for a year(Lonnie wanted to wait a year before painting) that I want to paint the kitchen-red! What do you think? Should the dining room match to or leave it the color it is? Suggestions?
Anywho, thanks for stopping by! Can't wait to see all of your dining rooms!

BJ - I just love your new house!! I think a red accent wall or section would be awesome in your kitchen. IMO, leave the dining room as is - the red striped curtains can tie in to the kitchen.

Thanks Conny! I was thinking about painting the whole kitchen red since there isn't that much wall space.

I agree, painting the entire room red would be awesome! I'd leave the dinning room as is. But would for sure go for the kitchen. Both rooms are beautiful!!!
