The end of the day

Well, it is almost the end of the first day of the new year. About another hour to go. I just wanted to take a few minutes and say what a good day it has been. Like previous post this is a hard time for me. Today I wanted to stop and say a special prayer for "Pap". He wasn't my grandfather but my cousin's but he was like one to me. However, he passed away today four years ago. He & my Mom got along well together. They were friends. And for them to pass away within days of each other is hard. I am sure they are up in heaven doing the "bump" since they both loved dancing together.
Anywho-onto why a good day...............
We had our traditional meal for the new year with only one substitution. We had kielbasi and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, green beans(normally corn) and rolls. I am not a fan of sauerkraut but being from the north and that is what we always ate I carry on. Everyone must eat at least one strand for good luck for the new year. :)
Lonnie & I have been working on our "own" stuff but together. He worked on gathering all the receipts for taxes. And I worked on meal planning. We have both agreed to do Weight Watchers at home together. I have all the materials since I did the program in Hawai'i so for now I am going to try it at home. I may need to join the local one here if for nothing else the accountability. Lonnie & I are not always the best partners when it comes to this!
I have been looking at my memory verse. I even put it on my computer as a screen saver so I see it when I am sitting on the couch-it is hot pink on a lime green background. You can't miss it!
Tomorrow there is no work! I am going to grocery shop-my favorite thing to do.
Have a good one.

Can I sound like any more of a mimic? ::snort::

I am also thinking about WW. I am determined to get back down to a "healthy" weight and that means losing about 40 lbs. I have a spreadsheet that counts points, a friend sent me some WW books with points....so I'm trying it alone first....but I keep wondering if I should join locally. I even went to the website but that $40 a month - well if I can do it alone that would be a new outfit. LOL
